Synopsis
Detroit Dreams follows Bobby, a music producer who is intent on capturing and producing the true Detroit sound by building what he believes will be the biggest record label industry-wide. Leading with the release of his cousin, artist Flight, his idea is born at the height of a Detroit financial crisis when the city is stuck in virtually no motion. Bobby’s label takes off and gains significant momentum even in what seems to be the worst of times for the city of Detroit.
In order to finance his business, Bobby leaned on a notorious Detroit gangster named Mont who vowed to help him realize his dream and bankroll his label with multiple Detroit based artists.
Things fall apart when Mont disappears in mid-air leaving Bobby stuck in the middle of a huge record release, while Flight is ready to jump ship as a war mounts with a rival rap crew. This film clearly identifies true Detroit culture as Bobby and his artists are caught between stardom, murder, and absolute mayhem. Will Bobby break Detroit artist talent or lose his life in the process?
